Nearly 15 years ago, the Parent Advisory Board was established at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital with a mission to act as a bridge between patients, families and the children's hospital.
The group is comprised of parents of children with inpatient or outpatient health encounters at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital and the parents meet nine times each year to share their experiences, opinions and suggestions in a variety of areas, including quality of care, marketing, research, nutrition and strategic planning.
Two main goals of the group are to advocate for programs for children at the children's hospital and to advise administrators and physician leadership about issues related to children and families.
