Sibshops
Sibshops, a free, interactive support program for children ages 5-12 who have a sibling with special health care needs.
Monthly on the second Saturday in January, February, March, April, May, September, October, and November.
- 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. Meet in the hospital lobby.
- Online registration is required and due by 12:00 noon on the Thursday before SibShops.
- Lunch is provided.
As schedules permit, a variety of sports and entertainment personalities come to visit and share some good times with us! Guests that have visited in the past include:

- Curious George
Bark Avenue on Parade is a therapy dog show held one Saturday a month in the hospital lobby at 10:30 a.m. All patients, families and visitors are invited to attend the dog show. Check the Child-Family Life calendar for dates.
Ronald McDonald
Visits once a month. Check the Child-Family Life calendar for date and time.
Parent Coffee Hour
Come and take a break, meet other parents/caregivers in the hospital, relax and re-energize with friendly, experienced volunteers who serve gourmet coffee, juice, muffins and other goodies. Child-Family Life hosts this coffee break for parents and/or caregivers.

Parent Lunch Out
Sometimes you just need to be in the company of adults who understand what you are experiencing. Or maybe you need a break from the routine and tension of the hospital. Get out and enjoy a free lunch. Ask your Child-Family Life Specialist for more details.

The University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital produces two live children’s television shows in their very own studio. Tune into Channel 33 to watch and participate.

Thursdays at 1 p.m. - Win a prize by telling a joke, answering fun questions and playing bingo. You can even be the host!
