We realize children ask hard questions about what will happen when they visit their doctor, clinic or hospital. The Children’s Preadmission Program offers resources and suggestions to help you answer those questions. We can help you prepare your child and yourself for your next medical adventure.
Why is it important to prepare your child?
Helping children get ready for something new is important. Most children don't know enough about doctor visits or hospitals to not worry. Research has shown children can manage new and even scary events better if they know what to expect. Where will I be? What will happen? Will it hurt? Do I have to have a shot? Will you be there? The answers to these questions are important to a child. The answers will help relieve your child’s fear.
